Corning United Soccer Club needs volunteers.
Please read the Volunteer statement below and tell us how you can help.

Mission Statement

Corning United Soccer Club is committed to providing area athletes with an opportunity to participate in soccer in a positive and safe environment, to develop soccer technical skills and tactical understanding, and to build strength of character and team concepts, so all athletes learn that Success is not measured by wins or losses, but rather by an Attitude that inspires our teams to unite and accomplish common goals.

Volunteers

The Corning United Soccer Club is an all-volunteer organization. Our goal is to create fun and rewarding soccer opportunities for your children. To make this possible, we need family members to help the club, every season.

Opportunities for volunteers include: lining and taking care of fields, coaching, being a team manager, uniform coordination, photographer, winter or spring program coordination, and/or being a Board member. Your help and enthusiasm are valued and necessary for the health and sustainability of CUSC. Please be ready and willing to volunteer when a coach, team manager or member of the club approaches you for your support.

When you register a player, you will be given an opportunity during the registration process to indicate how you would like to help out. Please offer to serve in some way as a volunteer, for the benefit of the many youth that particiapte in the Corning United Soccer Club

2014 Objective

The objective of the Corning United Soccer Club is to allow young players to improve their soccer skills and team-play in a competitive league, and to have some fun doing it. The teams practice two or three times a week in the Spring and play matches on Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Most teams also participate in a tournament to increase the amount of playing time for the season and to measure their progress through the season against new teams. This club is a good way to get ready for the school team.

This is the fourteenth year the Club will participate in the Broome County Soccer Association Spring travel league, and the second year to participate in the Expressway League. These are a competitive leagues that have multiple divisions with different levels of play for each age group. That allows the Club to select the division that best matches the skill level for each individual team. The Club has also participated in the Tompkins County Fall League for the past seven years, and in the Thruway League for premier players for four years.
