Nikki Dye, Administrator of the Year

NY State West Recognizes Nikki Dye

The New York State West Youth Soccer Association selected Nikki Dye, President of the Corning United Soccer Club as the Administrator of the Year. The award was announced at the Awards Banquet on November 15, 2008, in Rochester, NY along with the following citation. (See her photo in the Picasa album from the awards banquet.)

Nikki Dye has been involved with Corning United Soccer Club as a parent, coach and Member of the Board of Directors for the past five years, and she has been CUSC President for the past two years. Since Nikki took over as club president she has worked to upgrade the skills and credentials of the club's coaches. In the last two years, as club president, Nikki promoted coaching instruction by organizing official coach training sessions and reimbursing coaches for part of the expenses. Today of the fourteen coaches, three have high school or college coaching experience, and ten have either a D or E certification. Another training session is in the works for the new coaches.

Nikki has promoted the game of soccer with passion and leadership. She has done this by initiating new events like our annual open house that draws hundreds of people and helps spread the word. In 2005, a year before Nikki took over as president, the club had only 4 spring travel teams and approximately 115 players. There was no fall program. In the year ending in spring 2008, the club had 241 players and 11 spring travel teams. The fall program which started in 2007 has doubled in attendance for the year 2008 to a total of 53 players. Nikki has been a highly successful coach for the last 5 years.

More than anything else, Nikki has been instrumental in moving the Corning United Soccer Club from an obscure organization for teenagers to a well known organization with broad appeal to children from ages 8 through 19. She is gregarious, friendly, charismatic and she works very hard for the club. She runs the annual event called SoccerFest, and she even helped design the new club logo.

The award places Nikki among the candidates from 13 State organizations that are being condisered for the Region 1 Administrator of the Year award.
